Vera1  vera2

Vera is a pure breed Collie that was abandoned last week behind a vet office.  She is about 7 years old.  At only 30 pounds, Vera is severely undernourished, and we think she was kept in a small crate for most of her life.  Her muscles have atrophied, so she needs help to stand up and can only walk very short distances on her own.  She does not understand what stairs are yet.  We are working with Vera to help her regain her strength, and the vet has determined she is in good health other than being deprived of food and exercise for a long period of time.  We wholeheartedly believe she will make a full recovery and be a normal, healthy Collie.  She is very sweet, and does well around people, kids, and other dogs.  (I have two dogs and they get along fine.)  She does well around cats, too, but only after she gets a chance to check them out.  She is not spayed yet because she is still too underweight to have the procedure, but the cost of the surgery is included in her adoption fee.  Vera has such a great attitude.  She is one of the sweetest dogs I have ever met.  You can tell she just wants to be loved.  However, she is a special needs dog and will need lots of attention and care to get healthy again.  We do not believe it will be an expensive recovery (i.e. vet bills, medications) but she does need a gentle owner who can help her slowly regain her strength and spirit.

A cute stray dog found us and we have been taking care of him. We can't keep him as we already adopted 2 stray dogs, 2 stray cats, a hamster and a bird. We just can't afford to keep him.

Would you please help us? He needs a good home and needs to be neutered and given his shots.

He is a black mixed breed young adult dog, approx. 10-15 lbs. He has not been neutered and we do not know his medical history. He walks with a slight limp. He is a good dog who loves people and other animals. He even likes our cat. He is friendly and loves to play, but calms right down and isn't too wild. His only negative traits are that he likes to jump on us when he greets us and gets into the trash when he gets the opportunity. (What dos doesn't?) He loves both kids, adults and other dogs alike and will be a wonderful companion to a loving family. Please contact me via email at darinanddebbie@alltel.net or phone: 788-2900.

Thank you for your help,
Debbie Parker

Claire, a very sweet spayed female 50 lb Doberman mix needs a loving caring home. At about two years of age she is past the destructive puppy stage but still has many good years ahead of her. She is very sweet and good with other dogs and people. She is gentle with smaller creatures and loves to be petted. Claire has been living at our veterinary clinic for several weeks, but would much prefer a family. Claire has been diagnosed with epilepsy so she takes phenobarbital every day to prevent seizures. She needs a special person who will give her the care she needs. Other than this she is very healthy and happy. Claire is up to date on vaccines.
