Rocky, formerly
known as Sam
Says Rocky's mom
"Rocky is wonderful!! The love of my life, for sure. We
graduated from our 1st obedience class last week, and he was star
student".

Rabbit, formerly
known as Monica
After
Rabbit was adopted, her family decided to become an ACR foster
home. Since then, Rabbit has welcomed many a foster dog into
her home and shown them the ropes (and the bones and the squeaky
toys).

Maximus, adopted
October 2005
I adopted maximus, in
October. I am proud to report that he has gone
through basic training at Pawtropolis, and loves to practice stay
for treats. He loves to go kayaking and camping,
and spends alot of time in his own favorite chair by the window. This
dog is spoiled rotten. He loves the dog park and chew
toys, especially ones that he can tear the stuffing out of. He
is a great puppy and he will be an amazing dog. We are
moving to Charlotte, NC in June and Maximus will be a city dog and
not a country dog anymore. Thank You so much.
PS His ears are huge. I love it.

 Shelby
(formerly Honey) adopted June 2005
Thanks to ACR and to
foster parents Kim and Paul for helping Shelby find me! She is
a fabulous dog who was already so happy and well-mannered when I met
her and is learning more by the minute. I knew it was meant to
be when I was unloading laundry from the dryer and she followed
behind me and handed me a dropped sock. Our jogs around the
neighborhood are the best part of my day. Shelby and I truly
appreciate all the effort you put into helping great dogs like her
find good homes.

Dax, adopted April
2005
Thank you, ACR
for such a perfect addition to our family! This is Dax with our son
Julian and his cousins. Dax continually cracks us up with his goofy
personality and we have never known such a smart, loving dog! He and
our cat Maya have become great friends, and have taken up sleeping
together in our son's room. Dax just fits right in! We really
appreciate what your organization is doing. We hope that you can
continue to brighten other peoples' and dogs' lives with your
service.

 Moe, adopted
(and shaved!) April 2005
We recently
adopted Moe after becoming his foster parents – and then we
just couldn’t give him up! He became part of the household the
second he walked in the door and is happy no matter what he’s
doing. His favorite hobbies are playing in the backyard for
hours, helping me “fold the laundry,” (a.k.a, jumping on the
clothes and my lap every time I try to do it!), trying to be
friends with Bubba the cat, dancing when he’s excited, and
getting lots of love from his new family. Moe is a bright part of every day
for us and we are incredibly grateful that he got a second
chance from the ACR!

 Mollie,
Adopted March 2005
Mollie has a regular routine every
morning. After breakfast, she goes on the back deck & lies in
the sun! Things are going fine. She's quite a
character! Life is an adventure with her around! It's really
going to be interesting to see how she adapts to our summer life.
Our house has lots of comings &
goings!

 Buster,
adopted January 2005
I just wanted to thank ACR and
Buster's foster parents for everything that y'all do. Buster
is the best dog. He just brightens my day with his dance that he
does when he sees his leash and when he learns a new command.
He is the smartest and most loving dog and I feel really grateful
that he is my dog. Thank you!

 Trevor
(formerly Andy) adopted Feb. 2005
Trevor has become such a joyful addition to our
family. This past month has been a great learning experience
and a time of adjustments for the three of us. We have had the
pleasure of having Trevor accompany us on daily walks, park outings,
and a family vacation. We are proud to be his parents and
truly feel like he is proud to be our son. Thanks ACR!

 Gabe (right)
adopted February 2005
We just wanted to
tell everyone that Gabe is doing wonderfully. You'd never
believe that he is the same dog that was rescued in late January
(abused and weighing just 25 lbs). He's now 60 lbs. and has a
great temperament and personality. He loves playing with his
"brother" Max. He craves loving from everyone. He is such a
pleasure and a really great addition to our family. Max, by
the way, was also adopted thru Athens Canine Rescue, about 1-1/2
yrs. ago. We've been blessed with 2 great buddies.

 Dooley
(formerly Rocky) adopted January 2005
Dooley is doing great. He has
settled in and made himself at home. He has brought so much
joy to us, I can't imagine not having him. He truly is the dog
made for us. I have told so many people about Dooley and how
much we love him that they are asking for the website that we found
him. I always explain that they can look in the paper and get
any dog they want, but there is nothing like adopting one that
really needs a home and will appreciate it. You and your
organization have changed my life with Dooley and my heart about how
important people like you and your organization are. I can
never thank you enough!

 Handsome &
Gretel, adopted January 2005
The pups have adjusted very well.
Handsome, Gretel and the girls stayed outside playing all day
yesterday. They had a blast. Handsome has been his mischievous self
:-) He has been happy as can be. He loves to run, and run some more
around the yard. Stopping only for some water, or to pounce on
Gretel, and roll in the grass. They are something else. They are
definitely a pair not to be separated. Thanks for being so helpful,
and wonderful!!! We appreciate it.
