Olivia, adopted
August 2004
On a hiking trip with her new backpack
Olivia is definitely a success story in our eyes. She is
such an easy-going dog and we love having her around. She
is equal parts playful and cuddly -- we have lots of fun going
for walks and watching her run at the dog park, but she's also
happy just to lay at your feet for belly rubs or chew quietly on a
toy. We are excited to start basic obedience soon; she has
already proven to be quite the smarty pants and so it
should be interesting to see what she can do with a little more guidance.
Thanks so much to all of
Olivia's foster parents for taking such good care of her. She
obviously had got a lot of love and attention during her time as
a foster Athens Canine Rescue, and it really shows in her
good manners and sweet disposition.

Shiloh (right)
adopted October 2004
Shiloh loves his new mommy and his new friends! He is getting
along so well with his new canine sister, Gizmo, a sheppard /
chow mix. They both enjoy their long walks, wrestling and
playing tug of war in his new fenced in backyard. Shiloh and
Gizmo love spending so much time together in the backyard
that our friend Mark and I built them a "Doggy Mansion" for
them to share and to hang out in. Shiloh is also, amazingly
so, getting along well with his new himilayan and persian
feline friends, Cocomo and Bailey. We are extremely happy to
have Shiloh in our little family.

Luke (formerly Buddha) adopted
August 2004
He is getting bigger! I have attached pictures of the puppy, 22lbs
and growing:) He is still really low to the ground though so he
looks pretty small but he is solid and his adult teeth are
starting to come in. He's growing up so fast!!! He had his
last medicated bath Monday and doesn't need them anymore which is
great and goes back for his last puppy shot next week! He is doing
wonderful and him and Leia are attached at the hip which is
exactly what we wanted!!

Zeke, Adopted June
2004
Just sending you a little note to let
you know how great Zeke is! As you can see in the picture,
he has made himself right at home, especially on the couch!
We just love him so much and can't picture our lives without him.
Thanks so much for all that ya'll do!

Caleb (formerly
Maxwell)
adopted June 2004
Caleb loves his sister Princess (a large pit bull mix!), but
just tolerates the 6 kitties. Just the other night, he finally had
to give in and sleep with a kitty! She overtook his bed and he had
no choice. Was too lazy to move! We just can't imagine our lives
without him. He really is very special and has our hearts.

Chip, adopted June
2004
Our granddaughter, Gracie is three
years old and really had a wonderful time playing with the
"Big Boy" this weekend - about three times her size
:o) It was quite a sight to see. And for the rest of the
family, what a loving and affectionate "fur person" he
really is. Of course, you knew that all along :o) We had all the
"fur persons" out together in the yard and Chip really
enjoys playing with them. They're getting along quite well and Chip
has quickly made himself a part of the family. My grandson, Mark, has
never had the opportunity to have a dog of his own and now he is
beginning to realize that being a loving pet owner carries a lot of
responsibility. He is showing a lot of affection toward Chip and that
he really cares for Chip's happiness. Chip has been a wonderful
blessing to this family. We want to thank you for making Chip a part
of our lives and ACR for giving us the opportunity to provide Chip a
happy home.

Beau, Adopted May
2004
We just can't believe
that somebody would not want Beau. He is a great dog!
He is fully housebroken, he only barks when he wants to go outside
to play, he loves to sleep on the back of the sofa, and he LOVES
to ride in the car with us. We're having to teach him that he
can't drive though. He has a really funny personality and
acts like he's lived here forever. We already love him
dearly.

Danny (formerly
Duane) adopted May 2004
Danny has come into his own here with our family. He and
Lilly play so well- they chase and nip at each other in our
bedroom and Lilly being sneeky runs under my bed and out the other
side to the unsuspecting Danny! Danny sleeps in our room-
his crate is in there with the door open so he can sleep in there
if he wants (sometimes he does but mostly he sleeps right next to
the bed). When he wakes up and needs to go out he licks my face
and if that doesn't get it he jumps on the bed and barks! He's
filling out well and is looking really good. He's got a great new
talent that my husband (the golfer) appreciates-- Danny can find a
deserted golf ball under brush and bushes a good five meters off
(Dad's collection has grown tremendously!) Thanks to you, our
family is now complete and we are all doing well. We are all very
happy!
