Roxi is a sweet 30 pound shepherd mix that was rescued from a less than ideal situation. Initially we thought that she was overweight, but we soon learned that she was pregnant instead. In March she delivered five beautiful puppies. After six weeks of constant care, Roxi’s puppies are ready for adoption and Roxi is ready for a forever home of her very own. Roxi is crate trained and housebroken and scratches at the door or barks to be let out. Although she was a yard dog in her former life, she has never had an accident. She sleeps through the night without a peep and can be left alone during the day without worry of property damage. Roxi gets along very well with other dogs, people, and even the household kitties, now that she’s learned that they actually belong inside. She’s calm and quiet, politely inching forward to put her head in your lap or curl up with you on the couch. She is desperate for attention, so a little praise and love will make this dog yours forever. On walks she will follow you two feet behind and to the right OFF LEASH, doesn’t chase squirrels, and never wanders off more than a few yards. She is comes at the sound of her name, and prefers to use the bathroom in the bushes or the long grass for those who don’t like continually chasing after their dog with a bag in hand. Roxi’s favorite toy is her tennis ball, which she will run and chase endlessly, though we’re still learning to drop it on command. We also like chasing her canine foster sister and doing some very light wrestling. Being a full-time mother since she's been with us, Roxi hasn’t had a chance to learn more than “sit” and “come,” though she’s so eager to please she will learn quickly.. She will be spayed once she stops producing milk, and then she'll be the perfect addition to any household, whether she is the only dog or one among a happy crew.
