Quick stats:   born November 2006 housebroken crate trained spayed no cats

Maggie is a terrier mix with the most ridiculous little underbite you've ever seen ;)   She has a great time in her foster home, going for runs with her humans and playing her heart out with the other dogs who live in her foster home. She absolutely loves the fenced back yard, rain or shine. Two little rat terriers recently moved into the house next door, and they immediately became enamored of Maggie. If she notices that they are out in their yard, she wiggles and whimpers and begs her foster mom to let her out to play - they've figured out games that work even through a chain link fence :) Maggie has nice house manners and is very good about entertaining herself. When her foster mom is busy at home, she can often hear Maggie working industriously on a bone or chew toy, minding her own business like a good little girl. She also enjoys hanging out in her crate (her own private home-within-a-home) and goes in and out of it on her own. Maggie's foster mom has taught her various commands, but Maggie has taught her foster mom a neat trick too - how to shoot ice chips from the refridgerator door so Maggie can catch them in midair :) Maggie is great on a leash and will walk as far as you want to take her. She can be a little shy when she meets new people - she doesn't tremble or act scared, but she dances around and acts like she wants to say hi, but doesn't dare walk right up. It doesn't take her long to get over it though - especially if the people throw a ball or a toy - she can never pass up a chance to play! The flipside of Maggie's shyness is that she bonds extremely tightly with her people. It took very little time for her to accept her foster mom as her guiding light, and she loves to follow her everywhere. If her foster mom is at the bathroom sink, she'll lie at her feet. When mom moves 2 feet to the shower, Maggie moves 2 feet over too :)

Like all terriers, Maggie needs an owner who will not give in to that cute scruffy face and pleading brown eyes and insist that she stick with the house rules. When Maggie knows the rules she is a very obedient girl; in her foster home she always sits politely while her dinner is being prepared and waits for permission to walk out a door or gate. Maggie is a little bit sensitive to unexpected noises and movements, especially when she is in a new environment, so we think she'd do best with older kids. Maggie is a great little girl with a zest for fun that is infectious!
