Quick stats:   born approx April 2007 crate trained housebroken neutered good with cats

Gnarles is a teenage pointer mix who showed up at the house of a good samaritan family; they did all the 'lost dog' advertising they could, but his owners never surfaced. As long time good samaritans, they already have a houseful of rescued dogs and cats, and although they think Gnarles is terrific, they simply can't keep another dog, even one that is such a keeper. Gnarles is a fun, happy, affectionate boy who we suspect has been an outside only dog in his former life. Like most former yard dogs, he was a natural when it came to house breaking, but at first going in and out of doors, and just generally understanding that he belonged INSIDE the house was a new concept for him. He's got it down pat now though, and even attempted to test the couch as his spot too, but that was taking it a little too far ;) Gnarles is a playful boy and lives with several other dogs, all of whom are entering their geriatric years. They all like him fine, but they'd like to rent another young dog to keep him busy when they get tired ;) Gnarles also lives with a baby that he loves and kisses every chance he gets. The cats in his house are dog-savy, so keeping him in line has been a piece of cake for them. Although he's new to housedoghood, Gnarles has few rough edges - his only failing is a tendency to pull on the leash when he gets excited, but that's a hard one for any young dog to conquer. To sum up, Gnarles is a very happy, sweet, affectionate, playful, smart, goofy, smiley, and all-around wonderful dog!
