Cooper is a yellow lab mix girl, who's full grown physically, but still a puppy in heart and mind. A typical teenage lab. It's easy to see that Cooper is an athletic beauty. And if you want to look as good as Cooper, she'd be happy to jog beside you and coach you till you got there :) Cooper often runs with her foster mom and even turns left or right when foster mom calls out a direction. Now, how many dogs do you know that know their left from their right? She especially loves running on park trails because she can sniff and explore as she trots along by foster mom. She does well off leash on these runs because she doesn't want to lose sight or smell of foster mom. Although Cooper is undeniably athletic, she's actually a moderate energy dog - a nice walk or jog, plus a little time to run and be goofy in the yard does her just fine. Cooper has been to obedience class and knows the basic commands like sit, down and 'stay'. She waits patiently for her dinner to be prepared and sits nicely by the door when it's walk time. She's not a clingy dog, but she definitely enjoys her lovin' time and can lie with her head in your lap for hours.

Cooper was a bit of a mystery for us when it came to other dogs, because she would play so happily with them at the dog park or on our adopt a pet days, but get into scuffles at home. With the help of the wonderful trainers at Pacesetter, we learned that Cooper likes other dogs, but will guard her possessions from them. If they get near something she thinks is hers, she'll sure let them know. For this reason, Cooper needs to be an only dog in a home without small children. The trainers at Pacesetter will be happy to show Cooper's new owners some training tips - they've really enjoyed the time they spent working with Cooper and want her new owners to know the same enjoyment. She is a happy, playful, loving girl who will make a great companion.
