When Abby's foster mom saw her, she knew she had to rescue her, since she is the identical twin of her own Catahoula mix, rescued two years ago. As soon as she got to her foster home, she made herself comfy on the large dog bed and quickly fell in love with the resident Catahoula, Cappy.  Abby gets along fabulously with all three dogs in the house and has become very fond of the two cats too. There is often a snuggle fest with 2 dogs and 2 cats on the dog bed in the living room. Abby is very eager to please and wants nothing more than love.  She is the only one in the house who doesn't jump on the furniture or the humans, but merely places her soft head in your lap and looks up at you with a little Abby smile.  Perfectly submissive and friendly, when a dog growls at her she rolls over on her back and wags her tail. Abby does not like drama! On her first trip to the dog park she made friends with every dog and their humans, and amazingly came running everytime she was called.  Abby has already been exposed to many different situations including a trip to the horse farm where she obeyed the personal space of all of the horses there and discovered the wonders of manure!  Abby tackles every new situation with a wag of the tail and a happy smile.

Abby currently has a limp in her hind leg which is most likely an old fracture that hasn't healed properly.  We are working with the vet to diagnose and treat her so she will be comfortable in the years to come.  Her little limp does not hold her back now though, and she loves to play and wrestle in the yard with her canine housemates.  Although she loves to play, Abby also knows when it is time to settle down and she snuggles up next to the couch on her dog bed and sighs and snores to show her contentment.  Abby does not need a crate since she is not destructive and learned housetraining in one day!   Abby will make the PERFECT addition to any home: children, cats, dogs and lots of love.
